We meet on the 3rd  Thursday of each month (with the exception of December when we meet on the 2nd Thursday!) at the Uxbridge Library, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room.

Thursday September 19th – How is Your Research Going? Group Members

This session will give you a chance to update the group on your research and to identify obstacles to furthering your ancestral lines. Assistance will be offered to overcoming those obstacles including resources that might be of some support to you.

Remember this session will be held at the Uxbridge Museum.

Thursday October 17th – Googling for Genealogy – Marian Press, O.I.S.E. Librarian and Genealogist at Uxbridge Public Library

Researching without leaving your home can be both easy and fruitful. The major family history websites are invaluable to researchers but there are many smaller less known sites that yield indispensible information. This presentation will outline the best known sites as well as provide an electronic journey through sites that Miriam considers unusual, underused and underappreciated.

Thursday November 21st – Building Your Family Story Using Maps – Sher Leetooze, Author and Researcher

Participants will examine OS, DND and Topographical Maps of Ontario and Great Britain and learn how to read symbols and gather the clues that will assist them to put flesh on the bones of their ancestors.

Thursday December 13th – Family History Share Time and Social – Group Members

This is our annual Christmas get together where special family stories, artifacts and of course Christmas treats are shared. See you there.
